The Beef Alliance is an organization of cattle feeding companies that represent approximately 25 percent of the fed cattle supply in the United States. Collectively, the Beef Alliance strives to drive positive change in the beef supply chain through enhanced animal stewardship and more transparent communication with value chain partners in order to foster long-term viability of the cattle feeding industry.
Through collaborative innovation, scientific exploration and value chain engagement, the Beef Alliance is committed to establishing and verifying the Five Pillars of feedlot practices, monitoring, acting on shared issues and challenges, conducting research, communicating and selectively collaborating with supply chain partners; and protecting access to responsible use of appropriate production technologies.
Consumers desire more information about the food they purchase. Beef Alliance members have listened to that desire and are committed to verifying specific feedlot practices related to judicious antibiotic use, animal welfare, traceability at the feedyard, and veterinarian training & oversight. Documenting and verifying these practices will enhance transparency at the feedlot segment and will provide for continuous improvement.
